Courses and Eligibility:Master degree: Duration – Two years, candidate should have passed Bachelor Degree with good marks from a good reputed college.M.Phil. Course: Duration 1 or 2 years depends on the university, candidate should have passed Master degree with good marks from a recognized university.

Ph.D Course: It is a doctoral study for minimum two years and maximum five years depending on the conditions. Candidate should have passed Master degree with good marks from a recognized college or university.

Mumbai University (MU), the city’s temple of learning was initially engaged in offering academic programs at the undergraduate level. But with the passage of time it realized the importance of higher education at post graduation and research level and hence started offering teaching instructions at the Post-Graduate level. The university established several PG Departments starting with the School of sociology, civics & politics. With India’s independence in 1947, the re-organization of the functions and powers of the University took place according to Bombay University act of 1953.

Today, Mumbai University enjoys the status of a Five Star university by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). It has established its name in industrial collaborations and runs various professional courses.

MU’s various PG departments are offering courses at par with the International standard. The courses are of two years duration and admissions can be made on the basis of merit or in some case through an entrance examination.
